Technical PreSales Engineer

About the role

The RealWear Technical Presales Solution role connects our customers’ frontline challenges with the right RealWear solution. Working alongside sales, enterprise customers and technology partners, you will demonstrate hands-free solutions, run technical evaluations and ensure a smooth handover from discovery to deployment.

What you'll do

• Lead technical discovery sessions on frontline workflows, operational challenges, IT requirements and deployment constraints.
• Recommend suitable RealWear devices, accessories, applications and device management options for each customer.
• Deliver demonstrations covering remote expert assistance, hands-free inspections, maintenance, digital work instructions and frontline training.
• Configure demo devices, install applications, establish connectivity and resolve issues before and during customer engagements.
• Plan and run proofs of concept and pilots, including scope, prerequisites, success criteria, user training and evaluation reports.
• Assess site readiness, including Wi-Fi coverage, bandwidth, background noise, lighting, PPE compatibility and user ergonomics.
• Prepare solution architectures, technical proposals, bills of materials and RFP/RFI responses.
• Provide a structured handover to implementation and support teams, documenting configurations, dependencies and risks.

What you bring

• 3-6 years of experience in technical presales, solutions engineering or enterprise solution consulting.
• Hands-on experience configuring, demonstrating and troubleshooting RealWear devices (mandatory).
• Working knowledge of the RealWear portfolio, including Navigator 520, Navigator Z1 and Arc 3, voice navigation, PPE mounting, ruggedness ratings and intrinsic safety.
• Experience with RealWear Cloud (Ari Business) or an enterprise mobility management tool such as Workspace One or SOTI, covering device onboarding, application deployment, firmware updates and policies.
• Understanding of Android enterprise devices, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, firewalls, proxies and enterprise authentication.
• Strong demonstration, presentation and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel from your home base for customer demonstrations, site assessments and pilots.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Electronics or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with competing smart glasses such as Vuzix or Iristick, and the ability to position RealWear against them honestly.
• Experience with industrial customers in manufacturing, oil and gas, energy, utilities, logistics or field service.
• Experience with connected worker, remote support or digital workflow platforms, and with OEM or partner certifications.
